Fees & Legal Aid
Whilst the cost of legal representation may appear daunting and overwhelming, we can confirm that Legal Aid is available for some of our services and in the event it isn’t, we can discuss our competitive private fees.
Police Station Representation
We can confirm that when interviewed under caution, representation at the Police station is covered under Legal Aid, regardless of your earnings or the alleged offence.
However, should you wish to instruct a Lawyer to represent you at the Police Station on a private paying basis, we can discuss a bespoke quotation.
Magistrates Court Representation
Representation at the Magistrates Court will be subject to a means test which will take into consideration factors such as your income, family circumstances and living costs. In addition to the means test, consideration must be given to the merits of granting public funding, which will usually relate to the nature of the alleged offence.
We can advise you if you are likely to pass both the means and merits test. In the event that Legal Aid is not available, we can discuss representation on a private paying basis.
Crown Court Representation
Representation at the Crown Court will also be subject to a means test and may require you to make a contribution towards your representation, depending on your income and capital.
Motoring Offences
For representation in relation to standard motoring offences, we can offer assistance in accordance with the fees set out below:
Initial 1 hour conference – £200.00 + VAT*
Representation at Court – £350.00 + VAT*
Should you seek to argue either exceptional hardship or special reasons, we can provide a bespoke quotation subject to your circumstances.
*The above fees do not include mileage and disbursements which will be dependent on the location of the court and will be confirmed prior to any instruction.
Prison Law Representation
We can confirm that Legal Aid is available subject to means testing for the following Prison Law matters:
- Parole Reviews
- Recall Reviews
- Independent Adjudications
- Mid Tariff reviews
- Category A reviews
- Return to closed conditions
- Close supervision centres
We can confirm that for any private matters, we charge a fixed fee of £200 plus VAT* for a conference with either the person in custody or a family member/friend. This will be followed by a detailed letter of advice.
*The above fees are subject to any conference with a prisoner taking place remotely. Should a physical attendance be required, please contact us to confirm costs.
